I never thought that installing Linux would be so easy (after my fight with Gentoo).
- It recognized my wireless card (Intel 3945ABG) and let me connect to my router (unlike Vista Beta 2)
- After connecting to the internet, it immediately informed me of about 70 updates
- By typing 3 lines of code, my ATI x1400 videocard was working
- sudo apt-get install xorg-driver-fglrx linux-686 (reboot)
- sudo aticonfig –initial
- sudo aticonfig –ovt=Xv (reboot)
- Automatically logs onto my wireless connection upon boot
This only took me about 45 minutes – I'm impressed.
Overall comments so far: I like it alot 8/10.
**Update: I am in love with this – so I will chronicle my forays into the Linux world.
